Harvest time in September!

Harvest time here at the farm! We are enjoying a bounty of produce and madly trying to get to all frozen, dehydrated or canned. It's a busy time of year cause we are still milking twice a day and making cheese every day as well as trying to make it to 5 markets a week.
A few years ago I purchased a food saver at costco and it's been a real lifesaver! Then I found a dehydrator at a garage sale with 10 trays and mats plus the mats to make your own fruit leather! My favorite thing to do with it is dehydrate tomatoes and add them to soups and stews all winter. Second favorite is to do apple chips, it's a wonderful snack and pick me up in the afternoons when dipped in cinnamon almond butter from Central Market! Yum!!
The new barn is progressing well. We passed the first inspection last week after setting the poles. Now it's slowly taking shape and should be finished in a couple weeks.
We're calling it a barn but no animals will go in there. John needs space for a shop and a dry place to work on projects for the farm. Plus it will be dry winter storage for the tractor,  as well as a place to watch football and be a general man cave. That's on his half...my half will be a cheese cave and a farm stand!

The girls are calling....gotta go milk!
